Exotic gum nuts: Nature's sculptural forms

Growing in a special plot on the property 'Iwona' -- separate to the home garden -- Jenny and Roly Walker have planted over 800 eucalypts. Their aim was to supply foliage, flowers and seed pods to the florist trade.

On our walk through the plantation we saw remarkable trees laden with exotic gum nuts -- sculptural forms of great beauty and variation.

Beneath several Eucalyptus youngiana trees we picked up handfuls of gum nuts to take home. Mine now sit on a plate in our living area where I see them often. They are truly remarkable.
