Mitchell Pamper Day

There's been more cleaning, washing and scrubbing  in Mitchell over the past three months than ever before in white history. Consequently, the Maranoa Health Enhancement Program -- organised by Helen Brindley -- decided today was the time to pamper men and women of all ages at the Mitchell Bowls Club.

With the theme 'Stop and Take Care of Yourselves and Each Other', a range of free treatments and health information was on offer.  Manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, head and shoulder massage, forearm and hand care, and nutrition etc were on offer.

This is a great idea.  Many of the people who've lived through the flood and the clean-up are physically and emotionally fragile. When talk turns to the flood and its impact on their lives, tears are close to the surface.

People are exhausted and overwhelmed by the immensity of the cleaning- up and re-building process. Us included!
